it works just like the old one and feels thicker
i replaced my own screen and it came out looking brand new only people who dont know much about electronics will have a problem with it but it was very easy the hardest part was reamoving the old screen but besides that this product is just like the origial screeen just go on youtube and search up directions and pay really close attention.

Doesn't work at all
I've repaired my IPOD screen twice in the past (I have a physical job), both times successfully. This product did not work with my 2nd Gen Touch at all. I suspect it's for a different generation. The return policy was so strict as to make it not worth the hoops I would have to jump through to get my money back. Ah, pitfalls of online shopping....

Part of the repair
The tools are helpful and the product is in great quality, but note that this product is just the glass, tools, and adhesive. You may also need a plastic frame, a home button, and the wiring directly behind the home button.
Don't buy this thinking that yu definitely won't need anything else.
But, once again, the glass is in top condition and the tools are useful, as is the adhesive.

Wrong item for the picture.
I ordered this product because I wanted to repair a crack in my ipod touch 2g screen. This digitizer is meant for I-Pod touch 1G. I got it hooked into the I-Pod correctly but it did not work at all. I ended up buying the right one though, from someone else.

iPod works like new
When you're replacing an old cracked screen, be sure you get the chassis/bezel too. It'll break when you're removing the screen. Even if you manage to get it out without breaking it, then you'll need to remove the glass from it. You'll probably break it at that point. It's not woth the effort. The only catch is, it has no home button switch. I don't quite understand that. I'm not talking about the round plastic button, you can buy that... I'm talking about the actual switch that the plastic button touches underneath. It's glued to the old chasis, so you'll have to remove it by cutting it free, then use a razor blade to gently slice it off of the chassis. After that, you'll need to glue it, or tape it, or something to get it to stay on the new chassis. Aside from that, it was not as hard as I thought to complete. And... It' works like a charm. I'm soooo happy!
