Customers Reviews 2010-07-26 Terrible sound quality Would NOT recommend it.
Sound Quality is really really bad. I tried using it on several frequencies and none of them worked properly. I would hear 5 seconds of my iPod and then get interruptions from other radio stations and then back to iPod and so on. I got so mad I just had to return it.
| 2010-07-22 Expensive piece of junk Wow, what a waste of money. Don't bother trying to use this in an urban area with radio stations. If there are any stations even remotely close to the channel you're trying to use, you'll get a lot of white noise, interference, and static. It was slightly better away from the city. But now the thing doesn't work at all since the cord appears to have developed some kind of short. It will neither charge my iPod nor transmit it over the radio. | 2010-07-22 Worth the Money This is one great product. I had some trouble with it at first, trying to find a station that worked, and even then it would fade out a lot of the time... but after rereading the instructions I decided to use it in mono mode instead of stereo... and to me, there isn't that much of a difference in the sound quality but the signal strength is MUCH MUCH greater. Like, I'll be surprised because I'll turn it off while I'm driving and I'll find out the station I was covering has crystal clear music on it all while my iPod didn't fade at all. Also since it charges, I can just charge it while I drive, or if I'm at work and it is really convenient to always have a near full battery.
The only thing I would change about the iTrip is that I would make the cord longer. I have an 05 Grand Prix, and finding somewhere to comfortably set my iPod, while still having it somewhere so the signal is good can be tricky. Also I'm always afraid that if the cord is pulling on the iPod it could harm the charging slot down the line.
All in all, great product, and definately worth the money to buy this transmitter over the cheaper ones. | 2010-07-22 Works great most of the time This product is the second one I have. The first one was better, but does not work with my new ipod touch. I don't have much choice, it is the only way for me to use in the car. Smart scan sucks and just randomly picks a station. It gets static interference often and requires messing with to change station. The same device for my ipod classic works much better. | 2010-07-12 Very Good Works very well. Easy set up. Sound quality is what you would expect from FM transmitter..good not great. |
